Fascinated by art from an early age and in particular by the medium of watercolour, Fiona is inspired by what she sees around her in the beautiful English countryside.
From an artistic family, she grew up in Norfolk. Fiona says, “My roots are in
Norfolk and I have been greatly influenced by the vastness of its skylines and
coastal horizons. I am however continually inspired by dramatic skies and scenery wherever they may be”.
Artists that have particularly influenced Fiona are J M W Turner, Edward Seago,
Edward Wesson, Rowland Hilder and more recently Michael Morgan and the Cornish artist Kurt Jackson.
Fiona says, “Painting is a passion. Landscapes and coastal scenes continue to inspire me with their ever-changing skies, light and atmosphere; they are a source of infinite inspiration and I am continually driven to capture their beauty through the medium of watercolour and more recently in oil medium.”
As well as exhibiting her work in galleries, Fiona also undertakes special commissions and specialises in depicting personalised representations of people’s homes in the landscape around them.
